ABOUT
Shannon Argo M.S. SLP-CCC
Hey there, I'm Shannon! I graduated from the University of Florida in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and from the University of Tennessee with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology in 2021.
I began working as an SLP in 2021 in the school and clinic setting, working with children from ages 1-21 years old. Currently, I work full time at PEER Academy and see private clients after-school.
I am a practitioner in training for Spelling to Communicate with an end goal of receiving my certification in March 2025. Spelling to Communicate is a great option for students who typical high tech AAC has not been adequate in expressing their true thoughts. Contact me to learn more!
I am passionate about helping all kids find their voice in any modality! I believe in a collaborative, family-centered approach and strive to ensure that all of my patients are given the tools they need to succeed.
Speech Therapy & Parent training
I offer private in home speech therapy services in Knoxville, Tennessee. I also offer virtual or in-person parent coaching services to help support parents of children that utilize AAC (alternative means of communicating) or are seeking a neurodiversity affirming approach to working with autistic children.

Shannon is THE best speech professional we have ever worked with. Her passion for what she does is evident in the way she has worked with my granddaughter over the past 10 months. Amora adores her and Shannon makes learning fun even when it’s hard. Shannon also discovered Amora’s tongue tie over the pediatricians! The necessary surgery, along with Shannon’s help, has drastically helped Amora make great progress and instill confidence with her speech - others notice her progress as well. She has been a blessing to our family!

Working with Shannon has been such a game changer. Aside from being the most knowledgeable SLP around in the field of Gestalt Language Processing, she is an incredible advocate for her clients. The difference we saw and felt after a few months working with Shannon, after over 2 years with a different SLP clinic, was incredible and I have no doubt our daughter felt them too!

Shannon is the most patient and kind speech therapist. She has amazing knowledge and empathy for all modalities of communication. I love that she uses play based, naturalistic, and neurodiversity affirming practices! Shannon has been our speech therapist for nearly 2 years, and we have seen so much growth in our autistic son who is 12 years old. He has increased in communication, self-advocacy, regulation, and reading! I would highly recommend Shannon Argo to any person who is looking for a holistic, child-first approach to speech therapy!
